You Tube Debate – Gov. Huckabee wants everyone’s support.
Gov. Huckabee stated in the Republican You Tube Debate last night that he welcomed the support of Log Cabin Republicans. While he disagreed with Log Cabin on the subject of same sex marriage, he said “…but in a democracy we can have disagreements over some policies and still agree on the greater things that make us Republicans.” That is the fundamental message that Log Cabin Republicans have delivered for 30 years now and we’re glad to hear others in the GOP supporting that idea now as well. We can respectfully disagree with Gov. Huckabee who has deeply held consistent principles, it’s those like Gov. Mitt Romney who changes his views the way Paris Hilton changes outfits that we don’t understand. And Gov. Huckabee’s position on same sex marriage is the same as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. Same sex marriage is bleeding edge politics for both parties and this is just the start of a national discussion on basic fairness for all Americans. And we are not the Log Cabin Wedding Chapel organization, we’re involved in many other issues as well. I guess most of the candidates would rather talk about gay marriages than their own…
